Judith Elaine Gerber
Judith Elaine Gerber, 81, a long-time resident of Beaumont, Texas, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born on July 7, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Josie Mae Crane Wilson and Fred R. Wilson.
No phone call or conversation ended without Judy singing the following: “I’m so glad we had this time together, just to have a laugh or sing a song. Seems we just get started and before you know it, comes the time we have to say so long.” Which was the song that Carol Burnett sang at the closing of all of her shows while pulling her left ear lobe, which indicated her love.
Judy was a devout Christian who openly expressed her love for Jesus Christ to all who knew her. Judy was colorful, bigger than life, and full of unique surprises. She loved her family immensely and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Gwen Gerber of Beaumont; Hollie Hensler and her husband, James, of Houston; and Jennifer Gerber of London, England; sister, Annette Vaughan of Lumberton; nieces, Victoria Vaughan Laine and her husband, Bryan; of Lumberton; and Carla Vaughan of Lumberton; great-nephews and their families, Joshua Richard Roy, Luke Anthony Roy, and Jacob Vaughan Roy; and friend, Shirley Laine of Beaumont.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, who was more like a brother, Richard Anthony Vaughan.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the special caregivers at The Arboretum in Winnie.
A graveside service for Ms. Gerber will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
The family would like to invite everyone to 1701 Barbecue, 1701 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, immediately after the graveside service for a time of food and fellowship.

Sad to read about Judy this morning. She and I great up together at Fletcher Elementary School. Way back then we would leave the school ground and go to her home several blocks away and have lunch together. Never got caught which was amazing. Have not seen Judy in years but you continue to think about others that were in your life. RIP Judy and prayers for your loved ones.
