Judy Brushaber
Judy Ann Brushaber, 84, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 24, 2018. She was born on July 27, 1934, in Dunkirk, New York, to Doris and Floyd Morse.
Judy was raised in Fredonia, New York, and lived there until 1972 when she moved to Texas with her family. She made the Beaumont area her home, as did her five children. Judy was retired from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office, where she worked for many years. Judy loved the tranquility of the beach and enjoyed time there with her family, a good book, and a cold drink. She was an animal lover and adored her pets. Judy was known for her quick wit, extensive vocabulary and her extraordinary Thanksgiving turkey and gravy making skills. But most of all, Judy was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed more than she could ever imagine.
Survivors include her children, Leslie Reed and her husband, Chuck, of Nederland; Tim Brushaber, of Beaumont; Candy Summers and her husband, Tim, of Hamshire; Jeff Brushaber and his wife, Sheree, of Lumberton; and Melanie Wright and her husband, Frank, of China; grandchildren, Heather Bergeron and her husband, Waylon; Jill Ceja and her husband, Juan; J.D. Reed; Greg Reed and his wife, Sharon; Tim Brushaber and his wife, Lisa; Zach Brushaber and his wife, Jill; Sarah Huff and her husband, Sam; Dylan Summers and his wife, Devinn; Rachel Broussard and her husband, Blue; Alana Manni; Austin Brushaber; Emily Deshotel and her husband, Bryan; and Matt Wright and his wife, Lindsey; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Lyn Calanni and Jean Sasso, of Fredonia, New York, and Daphne Ford, of Texas; along with nieces and nephews also of Fredonia, New York.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Frank Morse; and granddaughter, Samantha Summers.
A gathering of Ms. Brushaber’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

My favorite aunt. You were always great to me, even made fun of my LL Bean shorts in HHI. I loved you for it. I wrote you some letters, i would like them back if anyone has them. To me your sharp wit and intellect was often humorous, and to the point. You didn't ever pretend at anything. I knew you loved your favorite nephew, when you told me so i felt it, all my life. Talks we had helped me understand things i had trouble understanding and i was always grateful for your honesty, even when it was tough. I will miss you dearly and deeply for the rest of my time. Thank you Aunt Judy, for being alive, for being my aunt, and how i continue to wish you never moved away.
