Julie Benoit

March 26, 1975 - August 13, 2025

Julie Benoit, 50, of Port Arthur, passed away peacefully at her Granny’s house on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. She was born on March 26, 1975, in Groves, to Pamela Kay Herring and Oren Lee Miguez. We take comfort in knowing that the very next day she was reunited with her brother, Justin Jackson, celebrating his birthday in heaven with their beloved grandparents, Tony and Mattie Herring, by her side.

For several years, Julie bravely battled PAH, and in her final months she also endured the challenges of chemotherapy. During this time, she received loving care from her mother, Pamela LeBlanc, who made sure Julie was fed and comforted on the days she could not manage on her own. That care was a lasting expression of a mother’s love, and Julie carried it with her on her final journey.

Earlier this year, Julie was blessed to celebrate her 50th birthday in Mexico with her sister, Holly Dodge and brother-in-law, Donald Dodge, along with dear friends Bridget and Ken Holland, and Jennifer LaBove. It was truly the trip of a lifetime—filled with laughter, joy, and cherished memories she held close in her heart.

Julie’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her daughter; Gabrielle Miguez; and her son, Tyler Lange and his wife, Kourtney. She treasured her grandchildren; Trenton, Rodney Jr., Tavia, Dakyan, Zaverick, and R’Leeya from Gabrielle; and Harper, Tyler Jr., Delilah, and Asher from Tyler. Her children and grandchildren, who make their home in Missouri, will forever miss her loving presence.

Julie also cherished the lifelong friendships she kept close throughout her life. She was blessed with a circle of girlfriends she considered family, including; Carol Rensland, Shelley Fields, Shawna Fontenot, Bridget Gilcrease, Ginger Hatch, Jennifer LaBouve, and Tina Lange. From their teenage years into adulthood, they created countless memories together, and their bond remained strong until the very end.

Julie is also remembered with love by her children’s father and her grandchildren’s grandfather, Robby Joe Benoit. She leaves behind her mother, Pamela LeBlanc; stepmom, Laurie Rauwerda; sister, Holly Dodge, and brother-in-law, Donald Dodge; her father, Oren Lee and his wife, Wanda; sister, Tammie; and uncle, Tony. She was especially close to her niece, Brianne Miguez and Brianne’s son, Justin Bouloute, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Along with many extended family members and dear friends, they will continue to honor the love and light Julie brought into their lives.

She was welcomed into heaven by her brother, Justin Jackson; her grandparents, Tony and Mattie Herring; her Uncle Ricky; and other cherished loved ones who went before her.

Though Julie passed away in Texas, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends across both Missouri and Texas. Because she touched so many lives in both places, two services will be held to honor her. A service will take place in Missouri for her loved ones there, and another in Texas for family and friends who shared her life more closely here at home.

Julie’s greatest wish was that no one be sad after her passing but instead remember her with love—wearing bright colors, sharing laughter, and celebrating the beautiful life she lived.

A gathering of Ms. Benoit’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow, Friday, August 22, 2025, at Broussard’s 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.
