Kala Anne Walker Barnard

August 26, 1971 - September 16, 2025

Kala Anne Walker Barnard, 54, of Kountze, was born on August 26, 1971, in Orange, to Martha Ann Latham Walker and Joe Ray Walker. On September 16, 2025, she left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kala, known to many as “Wig”, had a joyous childhood, spending most of her younger years in Brookeland, Texas. She often shared stories of her adventures growing up with her sister, affectionately known as Tata, and her brother, David. During those years, she met one of her lifelong friends, Marcia, who would remain by her side through the years. Later in life, she was blessed with another friend, Gerry, who became part of her chosen family.

Family and her closest friends were always at the center of Kala’s life. She was known for her headstrong and steadfast nature, and for those within her inner circle, there was never a doubt she had your back and believed in that loyalty wholeheartedly.

Her greatest pride and joy in life was her husband Trey and their five children Kady, Jake, Kade, Kyler, and Karsen and their three beautiful grandchildren, Charlie, Avie, and Walker. Kala adored her family beyond measure. She often spoke with pride about the people her children had become. She was especially proud that her grandson Walker carries on her maiden name, continuing the family legacy she treasured.

Her love for animals and the outdoors was woven into her daily life. Kala cared deeply for her chickens, ducklings, and cats, cardinals and delighted in the hummingbirds that visited her back porch feeders. She especially enjoyed beginning her mornings with a cup of coffee on her porch, whether watching Newsmax or simply soaking in the view, the peace, and God’s creation.

Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling with family and friends to her favorite places such as Lake Sam Rayburn, Crystal Beach, and the Texas Hill Country. Hunting and fishing, especially alongside Trey, were among her greatest joys.

Kala also took immense pride in her work, often sharing how grateful she felt for the blessing of a career she loved and the privilege of working with a one-of-a-kind boss who earned her deepest respect.

A woman of strong conviction, she lived her life firmly grounded in her Christian faith. She has been joyfully reunited in heaven with her parents, Joe Ray and Martha Ann Walker, and her brother, David. She is survived by her loving husband, Trey Barnard of Kountze; daughter, Kalyn Greenleaf of Kountze; sons, Jake Barnard and his fiancée, Jocelyn Harding, of Silsbee, Kade Barnard of Warren; Kyler Barnard of Kountze; and Karsen Barnard of Kountze; grandchildren, Charlie and Avie Greenleaf, and Walker Barnard. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jerri Lynn and Scott Spence of Lumberton; nephews, Daulton Spence and his wife, Nikki, of Sour Lake, along with their children; and Shane Spence and his wife, Kamryn, of Nederland; and many cousins.

Kala will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
