Karen Thompson Butler

February 4, 1960 - June 15, 2025

Karen Thompson Butler, 65, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1960, in Beaumont to Barbara Jean Woodell and Bobby L. Thompson.

Karen, also known as Mimi by her grandsons, was known for her giving nature to all. She spent her life caring for others through motherhood, volunteering at school and church, teaching, cooking, sewing and crafting, and always hosting holidays and special occasions. She will be remembered as someone who served others and the Lord with all her heart.

Survivors include her husband, Robin Butler; children, Angela Strahan and her husband, Joe, of Sour Lake, and Eric Butler of Austin; grandchildren, Patrick, Finn, Luke and Jack Strahan; brother, Scott Thompson and his wife, Becky, of Beaumont; father-in-law, Franklin Butler, Sr., of Lumberton; brothers-in-law, Franklin Butler, Jr., of Splendora, and Randy Butler and his wife, Barbara, of Lumberton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Belle Butler; and sister-in-law, Diane Butler.

The family is eternally grateful to all of the staff at Texas Oncology, which Karen named “her angels”, along with the loving support of all of our friends.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2025, at Wesley Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee.
