Kary Sollock

March 21, 1962 - November 1, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kary Sollock, 59, of Beaumont, on Monday, November 1, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Pat Anne Wilson and Billy Ray Sollock. His family moved to Texas for his father’s work when Kary was young, and this is where he was raised. In high school, Kary ran track and field and played football at Little Cypress Mauriceville. He even set the record for running the fastest mile at the time. Soon after school, Kary got a job working for UPS. He was loved and respected by his coworkers and the customers he met along the way. Kary was known for the ability to strike up a long conversation with just about anyone and loved getting to know more about everyone he met. Kary met the love of his life and soul mate, Crystal, in 1999 and they were married in 2001 surrounded by close friends and family. Ever since then the two have been inseparable. In 2019, Kary retired after 35 years of service from UPS.

In his spare time, Kary and his wife, Crystal, were avid hunters, fishers, and scuba divers. They loved scuba diving so much they went on to become rescue divers. In the summers, you could find them in his prized Pathfinder boat on Sabine Lake. They also loved going on vacation and one of his favorite places to visit was Jamaica. Jamaica was his favorite place to escape and relax. Kary enjoyed living life to the fullest and getting to make new memories with his wife.

Kary’s heart was his fur baby, Nutmeg, that his wife got him for his birthday in 2012. You could find Nutmeg anywhere Kary went. Whether that was fishing with him on the boat or watching sports on the couch. They then rescued Lola, a pit bull pug mix that captured his and the rest of the family’s heart. The dogs quickly became his world and filled his days with love, loyalty, and protection. Kary also was a music lover. He and his wife would spend hours outside listening to the oldies but goodies.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-one years, Crystal Sollock; sons, Grahm Sollock and Tommy Leicht III; daughter, Christina Leicht; one granddaughter, Adelynn Grace Sollock; sister, Kim Sollock; brother, Kile Sollock; numerous nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Meg and Lola.

Kary is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association; 1213 Hermann Drive, Suite 525, Houston, Texas 77004. If you would like to send flowers, please send vase or plants in lieu of easels.

Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
