Kenneth Wayne Rulon, Sr.

February 7, 1945 - September 30, 2021

Kenneth Wayne Rulon, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1945, to Leonard Rulon and Ruthell Blanchard in Gainesville, TX. He grew up in Kountze, but he made his home in Silsbee for over fifty years.

He married his beautiful bride, Valerie, on June 12, 1968, and for fifty-three years she was the love of his life. Their marriage and love is an inspiration to all who know them. Even death couldn’t separate them for long. He was a devoted husband, dad and papaw who always put God and family first. His quick wit brought joy and laughter everywhere he went, and his constant singing of everything from gospel hymns to Elvis Presley brightened every room. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.

He was a man of love, compassion, character and integrity. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. At his request, his family will celebrate his life privately.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Angela Whisenhant and her husband, Leslie; son, Kenneth “Bo” Rulon, Jr. and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Kyle Whisenhant, Chase Whisenhant, Grace Rulon, and Kenneth “Tripp” Rulon III; sisters, Nan Doucet, Betty Rulon Vaughan and Kellie Rulon Dyer, and brothers, David Rulon, Bryan Rulon, and Jerry Rulon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Janette Rulon; and brother, Jack Rulon.

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.   2 Corinthians 5:8

Cremation arrangements for Mr. Rulon were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
