Kyle Carter Green

November 1, 1970 - January 28, 2025

Kyle Carter Green, 54, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1970, in Nederland to Clydell and Bobby Green.

Kyle’s greatest joy in life was his daughter, Kendal Green, who was not only his pride and joy but also his very best friend. Their bond was unbreakable, and he cherished every moment spent with her.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors and sports, Kyle’s true passion was baseball. Whether he was coaching on the field, mentoring young athletes, or simply watching a game, he poured his heart into the sport. He had a gift for inspiring players to reach their full potential, and he especially had a soft spot for children with special needs, ensuring they felt valued and included in the game he loved so much.

Kyle was also known as the life of the party, always ready to fill a room with laughter. He had an infectious energy, often dancing around the kitchen, singing along to his favorite songs, and making sure everyone around him had a good time.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Jodi; daughter, Kendal Green, and her fiancé, Evan Salinas; sisters, Paula Ferguson and her husband, Mark, and Leisha Tinsley; brother, Phillip Green and his wife, Shelda; parents-in-law, Don and Terri McFarlin; sister-in-law, Jana Ware and her husband, Jason; brother-in-law, Clint McFarlin and his wife, Ravin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering of Mr. Green’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His cremations arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Kyle helped me get through a very tough time in my life. I coached with Kyle at Memorial and Vidor. During that time I was trying to pass the teacher certification test and I failed several times. He helped me defeat the negatives that goes along with failing. Although I was 13 years older he was there for me with support and advice I needed to finally pass the test and be successful. I would not be where I am today without knowing Kyle. I’m truly saddened that I will not see him again in this life. I’ll see you in heaven Kyle!

Kyle, I’ve been thinking about this for a few days and can’t really wrap my head around what happened, you were such a kind man always had a smile on your face, never saw you where I didn’t see teeth first, that’s just how you were, A great baseball coach, great baseball player just an all-around great person. The last time I saw you, Jodyie and I think Kendal is when you guys were at Neches Credit Union you looked great, y’all looked very happy, I was happy you were back in Nederland coaching baseball and next thing I know I’m hearing this happened, again I hope you’re ok, I hope you are with Bobby and Clydell, I know they are happy to see you but I guarantee you my friend when you left us you took a piece of everyone’s heart with you, you were so loved!
    RIP my friend.

I am very blessed that I was fortunate enough to take pitching lessons from Kyle when I was in high school. I am even more blessed that I got to spend that time with Kyle.

During that time, Kyle not only became one of my mentors that I looked up to, but he also became one of my good friends. While Kyle helped me improve as a pitcher, his lessons went beyond baseball and helped me grow up from a teenager into a man.

I am forever thankful to Kyle for his guidance. I wish I could have told him how much he meant to me before he left. I hope, that like Kyle, I can pay his kindness forward and be a mentor to others like he was to me.

My heart goes out to anyone else grieving his loss–former players, friends, and especially family. My thoughts and prayers are with y’all.

Love you Kyle, you will be missed.
