Larry Annadale Muse

June 17, 1950 - November 18, 2024

Larry Annadale Muse, 74, of Beaumont, died on Monday, November 18, 2024.  He was born on June 17, 1950, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Leonard Anadale Muse and Neva Wright Muse.

Larry was graduated from Virginia Tech in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Genesis, and Morphology, where he was a member of the Alpha Zeta honor and service fraternity.  Following his passion for agriculture, he farmed land in the Northern Neck of Virginia as the owner and operator of Penn Farm, located at Leedstown, Virginia. Larry was a director of the Westmoreland County Virginia Farm Bureau and was a founding member and treasurer of the Northern Neck Vegetable Growers Association.

Larry’s Virginia home was located next to George Washington’s birthplace on land owned by his ancestors since 1668.  In retirement, he lived in Beaumont with his wife, Ruth Ann Truncale Muse, who taught orchestra in the Beaumont Independent School District.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Truncale Muse; sister, Janice Muse Frye and her husband, Joseph; brother-in-law, Judge Michael J. Truncale and his wife, Denise; nephews, Daniel Frye and John Frye; and nieces, Meredyth Long, Lacey Mabry, and Lauren Weston.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Goodwin Muse; and aunt, Florence Muse.

Ruth Ann Truncale Muse wishes to express appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at College Street Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A gathering of Mr. Muse’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium. There will be an interment of his urn at Pope’s Creek Cemetery in Montross, Virginia.
