Larry Marvin Williams

April 9, 1951 - April 8, 2026

Larry Marvin Williams, 74, of Silsbee, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, just one day shy of his 75th birthday, surrounded by his family who loved and adored him.

Larry was born on April 9, 1951, in Silsbee, Texas, to Marvin and Doris Williams. He graduated from Silsbee High School in 1969 and went on to train at Fluor Industries in Houston in piping design.

Larry built a meaningful career as a piping designer and project manager. Many of his designs are still in operation in refineries across the country today. He worked for various companies over the years before eventually retiring from Mustang Engineering. Larry was often requested by clients who knew him as an incredibly hard worker with meticulous attention to detail. He believed that if something was worth doing, it should be done right—a principle that carried into every aspect of his life.

Larry was surrounded by women for most of his life, beginning in childhood with his beloved sister, Sherry, whom he admired and looked up to every day. He married the love of his life, Karen Jones, in 1972, and they shared 53 incredible years of marriage. Larry was a devoted husband who cared for Karen in every way possible. He was her rock through many of life’s difficulties, and she was his best friend. Together, they built a beautiful family with their two daughters, Lee and Cassie. Larry and Karen were faithful members of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Silsbee.

Larry taught his girls life lessons through hands-on experience, allowing them to learn and grow from their own mistakes. This approach helped shape them into capable, strong, and confident women. He was the perfect balance of gentle love and firm guidance. Larry was known for his sense of humor, his quotable one-liners, and his practical advice. He spoke the truth, even when it was difficult to hear—and he was usually right. A man of honor and integrity, his words of wisdom will remain a lasting source of strength and comfort for all who knew and loved him.

Later in life, Larry gained the sons he never had in his grandsons and his beloved son-in-law, Jonta whom he loved like his own. He deeply treasured their relationship.

Larry was a man of many talents. He was a gifted artist who worked in many mediums over the years—oil, watercolor, stained glass, leatherwork, photo and pen. Many of his paintings were created using photos he had taken from his travels around the world. If you are lucky, you may have one of his creations in your home, as he loved sharing them with those he cared about. We will cherish those special memories as they live on through the art he lovingly created. Larry led his family on many adventures. From traveling and camping to sailing and country western dancing, Larry was fearless when it came to learning new things and fully embracing his latest endeavor.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Williams; daughter, Lee Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Jonta Miller; grandchildren, Garrison and Rachel Forse, Jayden Miller, Anniston Miller, Brooklyn Miller, Jessie Kutack, and Kash Kutack; and great-grandson, Cole Forse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Doris Williams, and his grandson, Karson.

A gathering of Larry’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, South 3rd Street, Silsbee.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pinecrest Baptist Church.
