Lastie “Bubba” Andrus

March 7, 1952 - July 8, 2022

Lastie “Bubba” Andrus, 70, of Winnie, died Friday, July 8, 2022, at Houston Methodist Hospital. He was born March 7, 1952, in Winnie, to Ora Marie Granger Andrus and Lastie Andrus, Sr.

Bubba was an outdoorsman that truly enjoyed the simple ways of life. He was a very accomplished taxidermist. He loved bow hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Above all else, Bubba cherished his family. He was very proud of them especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Kay Andrus, of Winnie; sons, Chad Andrus and wife, Kathleen, of Cypress and Brandon Andrus and wife, Jennifer, of Sugarland; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Cade Andrus; sisters, Ruby Nell Smith; Julinda Dufton; and Debora Andrus; mother-in-law, Alma Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Sue Robinett.

A gathering of Mr. Andrus’ family and friends will begin 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705.

    wow we are so sorry to hear this we met Bubba back in the early 80s when he was working for Clauds in Gilchrist. We became friends , hunted and fished together, I got him started in taxidermy , he was the best bird taxidermist I’ve ever seen , he knew what a bird should look like in a flying , standing or any other other position , not one feather would be out of place.
