Latrell Arnold Weitzel

June 10, 1945 - April 5, 2025

Latrell Arnold Weitzel, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on June 10, 1945, and grew up in Nederland, Texas. She was a source of strength, wisdom, support, love and laughter to her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Darnell Hanson; her children, Stephanie Tucker and Jennifer Balsano; and her grandchildren, Stephen Balsano and his wife, Alyssa; Stuart Balsano and his wife, Brie; Bethany Auton and Meredith Auton; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Beau, and Jack.

She was a long-time employee of Jefferson County Voting Machines. All of her life, she prized herself on keeping knowledgeable about politics and current events.

A gathering of Mrs. Weitzel’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont. Following the visitation, all are invited to join the family at Sombrero Mexican Grill in Nederland for lunch.

    Darnell, I am so sorry to hear of Latrell’s passing. When I was a kid I loved being an Arnold and didn’t understand why that wasn’t my name too. Beautiful memories of our Arnold family.
