Laura Ann Guidry Montondon

December 8, 1983 - September 22, 2022

Laura Ann Guidry Montondon, 38, of LaBelle, died Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was born December 8, 1983, in Port Arthur, to Phyllis and Jerry Guidry.

Laura and Mickey were married March 28, 2009 at St Elizabeth Catholic Church.  They were both hard workers, adventurous, loved to travel, loved dogs, loved family, loved life and most importantly, loved each other.

They were blessed in 2018 with the arrival of the love of their life, Mason Bernard Montondon.  Their love for him is immeasurable.  Mason was blessed to have had this time with Laura, she was his world.  Her influence on him will last a lifetime. Laura was not only loved and adored by her own family and by Mickey, but she was also loved and adored by Mickey’s entire family…what a blessing.

    Laura,
You were Pawpaw’s first granddaughter, the first to graduate high school, & college. You made him so proud of the woman and mother you became. I’m so thankful for the all the memories with you and your brother growing up because you and Brent were the two that I had always looked up to to make something of myself. I remember all the family trips we’d make from ski trips, to going to sea world, to the Guidry family reunions in Beaumont and Christmas at Nannie’s. I’ll never forget when pawpaw got your first vehicle with that big red bow wrapped on it, I’ll never forget the day you and a Mickey got married you were so beautiful. Your love for Mason will continue. You were truly an incredible woman and mom, fly high beautiful angel your no longer suffering. Until we meet again. ❤️

    Scarlett Garsea says:

My prayers and thoughts are with all the family, especially Mickey and Mason. May Our Lord hold you both, near him during this very difficult and sad time.
    May Laura Rest In Peace

    Tina says:

There are many lovely words to describe Laura, but, kind and pleasant come to mind first. Any conversation I had with Laura she was always very present. She was thoughtful enough to ask about my life and patient enough to listen.
I can recall a silly grin on her face when speaking about her dad, Jerry. A profound love when sharing anything about her mom and a typical grin and child like laugh when sharing stories about Brent.
I was 6 when they moved next door. I was the little sister when she and Amber taught us ballet classes in the garage. I’m so glad they included us, because those childhood memories run vividly in my mind. And I’m glad those are the ones I have with Laura. Laura’s character was so gentle and caring . This was the case even in our conversations in the last few years. She was so, so proud to be Mason’s mom. What a light he was to her. She truly glowed when talking about him. She loved him deeply. I know Mickey, Mason, Phyllis Jerry and Brent will miss her terribly. Praying the many good memories and a peace from God will carry them through this.

    Neil & Candace Spiller says:

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family at this sad time. May God comfort you and carry you. Rest In Peace Laura.

Laura was always such a kind person, and I loved getting to know her while we were in Indianettes together. Everyone loved her sweet spirit. My heart breaks for her family, continued prayers for you all.

    Ashley Boehme Jost says:

    Laura,
Although our moms and aunts were close, our family was so large and we were not as close. (as third cousins) I’m so thankful for the part you played in my life. Moving to a town where you’re born into friends is a difficult thing, especially moving there in 8th grade. At one of the most difficult times in my life, you were so welcoming and warm, introducing me to your friends when I had none. You gave me happiness when I was down. I will never forget your kindness and love. I wish we had stayed in contact as adults because I can tell you grew into an incredible woman and mom, but I know we’ll meet again one day. Kiss MaMa & PaPa for me!
    Ashley.

    Lainey Hanna says:

Laura was one of the sweetest people you would have ever met. She was always willing to lend a hand, make a dessert, or help bring your kiddo to practice. I was lucky enough to have her in my neighborhood and as a friend. Her smile was infectious as well as her love for others. I pray for her family during this time. I know Mason has the most amazing guardian angel to watch over him.

    Veronica Guidry says:

I was blessed in this lifetime to know Laura. I was struck by how she watched out for her brother Brent, even thou they were just a year apart. She was such a loving being, it seemed to radiate from her. I know that her celestial neighborhood will be lit up like a Christmas tree now that her beautiful loving soul has arrived.

    Jessica Norton Gentry says:

My sweet Laura. I have so much to say, but I’m at a loss for words. We shared so many memories together, and I’ll forever treasure each one. Although we lost touch, you were like a sister to me for so many years. I’ll be forever grateful for the few times we caught up in Houston. No matter how much time had passed, we could always pick up where we left off. I remember how excited you were to become a mother to Mason. You were “absolutely loving being a mommy, and that Mason was getting so big!” My heart is full of guilt for never making that play date happen. I know you’re looking over Mason now, smiling and sending him so much love. Laura you were a beautiful soul, inside and out, and you’re going to be missed by many. I’ll always be grateful for our friendship and the memories we shared. Love you always.

    Bobbie Rice says:

I was there when you got married and remember thinking you were absolutely gorgeous walking down that Aisle and thinking how lucky Mickey was to find you! Thru your mother in law, Donna I knew how truly beautiful you were inside and out! She adored you and told me many times about your love for Mason and his for you! Reading all these comments I pray you knew how much you were truly loved and admired! What a blessing you were in your short life to everyone you touch, especially Mason! He will definitely know how much his Mommy loved him! To close your eyes in death is to open them in the presence of the Lord! Rest In Peace Laura! You are so loved and will be missed until we see you again! Prayers for your family!

Prayers of comfort and peace..The love Laura gave is enduring through eternity. Blessed to have known her….BIG HUGS, Phyllis.

I’ll lend you for a little while a child of mine God said .. For you to love the while she lives and mourn for when she’s dead. It may be six or seven years or forty two or three .. But will you ’til I call her back take care of her for Me? She’ll bring her ways to gladden you and should her stay be brief .. You’ll always have her memories as a solace for your grief. I cannot promise she will stay as all from earth return .. But there are lessons taught below that I want you all to learn. I’ve looked this whole world over in My search for students true .. And from the folks that crown life’s lane I have chosen you. Now will you give her all your love nor think labor vain .. Nor hate Me when I come to take this lent child back again? I fancied that I heard them say Dear Lord Thy Will be done .. For all the joys Thy child will bring the risk of grief we’ll run. We’ll shelter her with tenderness we’ll love her while we may .. And just for having loved him forever grateful stay. – Edgar A. Guest

    Dee Phillips says:

I so vividly recall receiving a call while in Houston with a friend that was hospitalized from an excited mother, Phyllis saying “we have a beautiful baby girl naming her Laura! She is so beautiful and we are so blessed. Phyllis was sharing this news with me and her boss, Carolyn who we lost 1 week later to cancer. Everyone celebrated this gift from God to Phyllis & Jerry. She grew into a beautiful young woman that has been taken absolutely too quickly but she leaves a GREAT BIG PIECE OF HER HEART AND LIFE with all to love, a fine handsome son (grandson to some, nephew to others – A BUNDLE OF LOVE TO ALL)! Laura will be greatly missed but she lives on in that precious baby Boy given to her & Mickey like God gave Laura to Jerry & Phyllis! ALL PERFECT GIFTS ARE FROM ABOVE! Laura is in the hands of a loving God who was her creator! Prayers for all!
