Laura Beth Roach

Laura Beth Haynes Roach, 82, of Kountze, died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Kountze Nursing Center. She was born on September 14, 1936, to Bethel Evelyn Merrill and Thomas LaRue Haynes.

She worked at Southwestern Bell for more than thirty years. Laura Beth loved photos of family; she had many hanging on her walls. Laura Beth was a mighty prayer warrior. She loved being called “Granny” by “her boys”, nieces, and nephews. Her face would light up when any of those kids called on Granny, but her brothers and sisters called her Di. Laura Beth was a lifelong member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church in Kountze.

Survivors include “her girls”, Lesa Simmons and her husband, Mark, of Silsbee and Rhonda Haynes, of Katy; sister, Judy Moore and her husband, Larry, of Honey Island; brother, Dean Haynes and his wife, Mary, of Kountze; grandsons, Brandon Laird and his wife, Keesha, of Kountze; Chase Simmons and Logan Simmons, of Silsbee; great-grandsons, Caden Laird, Paxton Laird, and Slade Laird of Kountze; and stepsons, Kent Roach and Craig Roach.

Laura Beth is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband, Donald Ray Roach; parents; and her brother, Nathan Haynes.

A gathering of Mrs. Roach’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Little Rock Assembly of God, 5970 Highway 326 North, Kountze, with her interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
