Lauren Jeanne Rogers-Freedman
Dr. Lauren Jeanne Freedman (née Rogers), 69, of Beaumont, Texas passed away in her home with her children by her side on December 11, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 12, 1954, to Victor and June Rogers. Lauren remained in Beaumont through her high school graduation. Following this, she graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her further education took her to Los Angeles, where she earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology. She practiced as a licensed clinical psychologist and through her work in this field benefited the lives of many.
Lauren placed tremendous value on the importance of family and friends. She had many talents, hobbies, and interests which she gladly shared with those around her. An advocate for the creative process, she could regularly be found immersed in various forms of art. She also loved to travel, including visits with her family to countries on six of the seven continents. A loving mother with a warm and generous heart, she participated in and supported her children’s education, activities, and achievements.
Lauren always put the interests of others ahead of her own. Embodying the traditions of the Rogers family, she placed great importance on the value of charity and the support of others in need. In a similar vein, Lauren was a passionate believer in conservation who loved animals and the natural world. She gladly and consistently donated her time and resources to various causes to help better the world. Lauren found levity and laughter in all that life brought.
Lauren is survived by her children, Rachel Carlson and her husband Don; Jon Freedman; Marisa Freedman; granddaughter, Nel Olivia Carlson, sister-in-law, Debbie Rogers, and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and June Rogers, as well as her siblings, Melissa and J.W. Rogers.

I am heartbroken. I lost touch in recent years, tried to reconnect by text with these devastating California fires, and learned of her recent passing. We went to Emory together and stayed in touch for many years. She will be missed more than I can express. Rest in peace my sweet friend.
I am deeply saddened upon learning of Lauren’s passing. It took my breath away. We were very good friends in high school and lost touch through the years. She will be embraced in my thoughts and prayers. Love you Lauren. Rest In Peace.
Please accept my deepest sympathies, Lauren and I met in the summer of 1972 , while she and I were working for her family business in downtown Beaumont, just before she left for college . Prayers for Lauren and her family
Lauren was an exceptional person. I went to school with her in Beaumont. Rest in peace.
I was saddened to hear of my beautiful high school friends passing. She was as beautiful inside as she was inside. Prayers to her family. Cindy Perkins Miled
I am devastated. I have been writing Lauren for a while with no responses. Last phone call was about 5 years ago. I have been worried that she was having health issues but it still hit hard to see this. I love you, Lauren. I miss you.💔
