Lee R. “Spike” Hale, Jr.

April 3, 1955 - July 6, 2022

Lee Roy “Spike” Hale, Jr., 67, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022.  He was born on April 3, 1955, in Silsbee, to Helen Faye Foster Hale and Lee Roy Hale, Sr.

Lee was a member of Lumberton Masonic Lodge #1430, A.F. & A.M.  He loved to dance and enjoyed music and playing his guitar.  Lee loved all dogs.  He was faithful to and loved God.  Lee was self-employed and known as the “repo man that helped people get on their feet”.  He will be remembered as a loving father and PawPaw Spike.

Survivors include his daughters, Nicole Reck and her husband, Matt, of Rosenberg; Michelle Smalley and her husband, Harry, of Lumberton; and Amanda Nabors and her husband, Earnest, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Airman Allan Lee Reck, Kyle Reck, Will Smalley, Lilli Smalley, Ellis Smalley, Molly Nabors, Jake Nabors, and Layla Nabors; nephew, Matt Hale and his wife, Christian, of Orange; and numerous loving relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney Hale.

A gathering of Lee’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A private committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, at a later date.
