Leotta Belle Hunter

Leotta Belle Hunter, 90, of Silsbee, died Friday, December 10, 2021, at Millcreek Nursing Home, Silsbee. She was born on October 18, 1931, in San Antonio, to Donna Orena Childress and Harold Everett Rice.

Leotta was artistic, she loved music and the Lord. She attended First Baptist Church, Silsbee. Leotta loved roses. She received the Silver Fawn Award from the Boy Scouts of America. She will be remembered as a caring mother, wife, and MawMaw.

Leotta is survived by her sons, Anthony “Tony” Hunter III and his wife, Lisa, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Mike Hunter and his wife, Grace, of Carthage; and Mark Hunter and his wife, Carrie, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Tiffany Abshire and her husband, John; Shawn and David Hunter; Jessica Mendez and her husband, Mark; Jennifer Brand; Alexandria Hunter-Sanchez and her husband, Mitchell; Toni Elizabeth Hunter and her fiancé, Ixca Munoz; four great-grandchildren; sister, Cris Nunnery, of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, of forty-six years, Anthony H. “Tony” Hunter; Jr.; granddaughter, Lori O’Quinn; brothers, Carl and Buddy Rice; and sister, Joyce.

A gathering of Mrs. Hunter’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Valley Cemetery, Bellah Mine Road, Gillham, Arkansas.
