Linda Lea Nicholas

March 20, 1949 - December 24, 2024

Linda Lea Nicholas, 75, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Linda Lea Nicholas was born in Benton County, Missouri, on March 20, 1949, as the first daughter to Sybil and Porter Remole. Her siblings are Brenda Gardner, from St Augustine, Florida and David Remole, from Viola, Wisconsin.

Her first-born son is Dwayne Remole, from Beaumont, Texas followed by Angel Lopez, from Buna, Texas.

Linda graduated Stagg High School in Hickory Hills, Illinois and thereafter worked in Nursing and as a Caretaker her entire life.

In the early 80’s she met Trucker Tony E. Nicholas from Beaumont, Texas, at A & J’s bar in Summit, Illinois. They instantly clicked and Linda and Tony stayed together for over four decades. Almost 50 years!! They loved sharing the open road together enjoying long talks while “going to places” until they settled down in Beaumont, Texas in the early 90’s.

Family meant everything to this 4 foot something Cheyenne firecracker and she showered her husband, kids and grandkids with love. She hated being called Grandma, but Nonna was OK.

Linda could not stand cut roses in a vase and would only tolerate them in her front yard on bushes.

Some of her grandkids favorite memories are picking pecans in Nonna’s yard, trying to talk Poppa Tony into eating out when they stayed over for the night, or when Nonna came outside with a whole lot of Peanut Butter & jelly sandwiches while Ronnie and Tony were building a toy boat in the garage.

A fun prank the grandkids Amber, Jaymee and Ronnie used to play on her was to hide in the back of the car when Poppa picked her up from work. Tony’s fondest shared memories with Linda is taking pictures in San Diego, California, of missile destroyers that had not been in operation yet.

Linda will be dearly missed by all but remain in our hearts forever.

A gathering of Mrs. Nicholas’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.
