Linda Lu Barthelemy

July 23, 1938 - May 20, 2023

Linda Lu Barthelemy, 84, of Nederland, Texas, passed away at 3:15pm on May 20th 2023. Linda was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 23, 1938 to Norman and Anna Peterson. After graduating from Bossier High School, she married the love of her life, Frank Allen Barthelemy, on November 17th 1956 and together they began their great adventure. Frank’s job with Amoco took them to Vivian, LA, Pampa, TX, Ulysses Kansas, Jackson, MS, Lafayette, LA, Cut Off, LA, New Orleans, LA, and Lake Charles, LA before they made Nederland, TX their home in 1994. Linda was a longtime faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Nederland. She spent her last five months in North Texas near her youngest son fighting to recover from sickness. During which time she made Corner Stone Apostolic Church, pastored by Heath Flowers, her extended church home. She enjoyed reading her bible, eating crawfish, tending to her plants, playing games with her family, cooking, and baking in her free time especially when it was for her church or those she loved. None of those things compared to the joy she received from spending quality time with her family and friends. She was a very talkative person who loved to converse for hours with those she held dear. There were many times her late husband would tell her, “They just asked for the time Linda, not how to build the clock.”.

Linda was preceeded in death by her parents Norman and Anna Peterson; sisters, Lucille Maxwell, Norma Jean Goodwin; brother, Douglas Peterson and her loving husband of 52 years Frank Allen Barthelemy. She is survived by her 3 sons, Mark Barthelemy and wife Nancy Joy of Angier North Carolina, Randall Barthelemy of Kinder Louisiana, David Barthelemy and wife Michelle of Justin, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Mark and wife Amy, Morgan Carson and husband Shawn, Malynda, Dawson, Mollie; 5 great grandchildren Dylan, Dayton, Kaytlan, Milo, Dalton; 2 great, great grandchildren, Kason, JJ and a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who she cherished.

Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 2nd at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Port Arthur with Pastor Kaleb Rule officiating.

Entombment will follow in Tranquility Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Thursday, June 1st with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you send a donation in Linda’s name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 10169  Memorial Blvd, Port Arthur, TX 77640, or Cornerstone Apostolic Church, 2612 N.  Trinity St. Decatur, TX 76234.

    I’m so sad to hear of Miss Linda’s passing. She was a longtime patient of Prioux Chiropractic and we loved her so much. I enjoyed the craft sale every year at Faith Tabernacle which her items were sure to sale out first ..( that’s why I’d go early ) she spoke of her children and grandchildren with pride ! I’m sure going to miss her sweet face! ????
