Linda Mae Turnbow

October 17, 1940 - September 2, 2025

Linda Mae Turnbow, 84, of Beaumont, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 2, 2025, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. She was born on October 17, 1940, to Rebecca Harville Avery and Leonard Avery in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Linda devoted her life to her faith, her family and her church. She took church attendance very seriously and never missed, always bringing her children and then grandchildren with her regularly, making sure they knew the Lord. Words cannot express what a truly wonderful, selfless, loving mother and grandmother she was. She never tired of giving of herself to those she loved. Linda truly had a servant’s heart. “The most powerful life is the most simple life. The most powerful life is the life that knows where it’s going, that knows where the source of strength is.”

She will be remembered and cherished always by those who were blessed to know her; and our lives will always be better because of her love and devotion. Her children and her family mourn her passing. Although a painful loss, we know that heaven is a better place for her presence. We will always find comfort in her memory.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, John Turnbow; children, Jana Berlin and her partner, Billy Allen, of Lufkin; Starla Foust and her partner, Wayne Reaud, of Beaumont; Nicole Landry of New Orleans, Louisiana; and April Davis and her husband, David, of Beach City; grandchildren, Brittany Walker and her husband, Brad Ernst; Tyler Foust; Chandler Walker and his wife, Chasity; Stratton Berlin; Savannah Landry; Jackson Landry; Aidan Winzer; Harrison Landry; Fielding Allen; and Abigail Winzer; great-grandson Jaxon Walker; and sister, Brenda Lowry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Avery and Floyd Avery.

A gathering of Mrs. Turnbow’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
