Lois Eugenia Allen Gregory
Lois Eugenia Allen Gregory, 94, of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Born in Westbury, Texas, Lois was a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas, attending school at both Sour Lake and South Park in Beaumont. She participated in Home Economics, in which she proudly modeled a dress she made in a competition in San Antonio, winning first place.
After school, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, before leaving her job to dedicate her life to her 5 children as a stay at home mom. Lois is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Judson Gregory; her mother, Lois Rile Jordan; father, Green Taylor Allen; siblings Nona Bell Cobble, J.D. Allen, Richard “Dickie” Allen, and Doug Garner, and her companion dog, Sampson.
Survivors left to cherish Lois’ memory include her 5 children: son, Clifton Wayne Gregory and his wife, Miriam, of Dallas; daughters, Susan Gregory, Sandra Gregory Laurents, and Linda Gregory Lee, all of Beaumont, and daughter Rhonda Gregory Uptigrove and her husband, Barry Uptigrove, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Phil Ramirez and his wife, Kim of Frisco, Texas; Sarah Gregory of Cusco, Peru; Cliff Gregory and his wife, Michelle, of Clear Lake and Laina McGuire and her husband, Quincy, of Spearfish, South Dakota; great-granddaughters, Zoe and Trinity Ramirez and Everleigh McGuire.
A gathering of Mrs. Gregory’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

I am so sorry to hear of your mama's passing. Your family has always stood out to me as so strongly bonded and committed to each other---really special and unique. Your mama was so well-loved and it was evident she trusted you girls completely. I know her being gone will leave a huge hole but I also know that her legacy is living on strongly in each of you!

Linda, I met your mother briefly a couple of times while you were out walking Pepper in our neighbor. They say the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. If you are anything like your mother, she had to have been a grand lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God's Grace give you the assurance your mom is with our Heavenly Father. She will forever be with you in your heart. In sympathy and love. Robert and Becky Wyble

I have already said this to Linda, but your mom raised some wonderful children. She, therefore, was a wonderful mother to have done that. I haven't seen her in many years, but remember how sweet she was. People use that word often to describe others, but it really fits here. Looking at her picture, I can see all five of you in that face, each of you being a unique character, but still being one unit. Your family is very close like ours. That closeness will help you stay strong throughout this mourning period and beyond because that's what families like ours do because that's how we were raised, thank goodness. Stay strong and honor the legacy of that sweet, interesting and loving person you mother was.
