Lois Hemby

Lois Hemby, 91, of Nederland, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021. She was born October 16, 1929, in Fostoria, Texas, to Ola Murphy Collins and Oladge Collins.

Lois was known to be an excellent cook. She enjoyed exercising and visiting with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, Port Neches.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Lois Burke and husband, Kerry, of Groves and Diana Lynn Lindsay, of Nederland; grandsons, Roger Lindsay, Jr., of Nederland and John Colville and wife, Kristy, of Willis; great-grandchildren, Kristina Lindsay and Ashley Lindsay and fiance, Justin Diehl; great-great-granddaughter, Ave Rain Lowe; brother, O.L. Collins and wife, Jimmie Lee, of Kountze; and step grandchildren, Lori Wheeler and Kima Scarborough.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas K. Hemby; and sisters, Hazel Hooks, Flois McCormick; and Pat Cridell.

A gathering of Mrs. Hemby’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
