Lois Loupe
Lois Loupe of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday October 25th just 3 days after her 89th birthday. Lois Loupe was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on October 22nd, 1936, and moved into the Port Arthur, Texas area when she was about 5 years old. She married the love of her life, Gerald Loupe, on November 12th, 1955, and they moved to Nederland, Texas shortly thereafter where they lived for the rest of their lives in the same house, they raised their family in.
She leaves behind 4 children, Lynell Landry and her spouse, Hank Landry; Craig Loupe (Spouseless, but optimistic); Glen loupe and his spouse, Vickie Loupe; Theresa Roberts and her spouse, Gary Roberts.
She leaves behind 8 Grandchildren, Emily, Doug, Dakota, Kayla, Amanda, Shanna, Nolan, and Kaylee. Also 12 Great grandchildren, Izzy, Juliet, Ian, Noelle, Jolie, Luc, Mason, Hunter, Sierra, Braeden, Dylan, and Landon.
She also leaves behind a plethora of used Straws, Styrofoam cups, Napkins, Sugar and ketchup packets that she collected and reused over decades of fast-food restaurant experiences that everyone who ever came over had no other choice but to use.
Lois Loupe had many loves over her amazing life, but at the top of that list was her beloved husband, Gerald Loupe, her family, traveling, and cooking with a couple of unique dishes that she concocted including her specialty “Chicken in the pot”. Although her love of cooking was appreciated by all, Gerald encouraged her to curtail it somewhat once her sense of smell left her and her specialty dishes weren’t so special anymore.
She was a remarkable woman of God and her love and passion for her family was beyond compare. She will be tremendously missed but knowing that she is sitting with God and reunited with her love brings solace to her family.
A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland. Sending condolences. I am sorry for your loss.
My family (Neel) and the Loupe’s were neighbors for many years. Craig and I graduated together and my sister, Debra graduated with Lynell. I attend St. Charles Catholic Church and knew Mr. and Mrs. Loupe from mass. She was always so friendly. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Rest In Peace.
Though I never met Lois, I am friends with Glen and Vickie Loupe. She raised a wonderful and compassionate son and his wife is one of my very best friends. May the entire family find peace and feel the abundance of love that surrounds them at this most difficult time.
Gerald and Lois were my dear friends, both on a business and personal level. Gerald, being an electrician, helped me to wire my new home, working along with another one of his friends from Chevron.
RIP Lois Loupe. United with Gerald in Heaven.
My sincere prayers for all the families.
