Lou Ella LaCombe Beitz
Lou Ella LaCombe Beitz passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born in Winnie, Texas, to Cornelius and Theola LaCombe.
A devoted follower of Christ, Lou had a deep love for the Lord and His word. Her faith was evident in every aspect of her life, especially through her active involvement in her church. Over the years, she served faithfully by playing the piano and teaching Sunday School, bringing joy and warmth to those around her. Her musical talent and devotion shone through every note she played at church, her joy unmistakable.
Lou had a gift for making people smile. Her infectious laughter and quick wit were just a few of the many reasons her children inherited such a strong sense of humor. She was also a passionate and skilled crocheter, lovingly crafting handmade gifts that will continue to warm the hearts of many. Lou was also known for her delicious holiday treats, lovingly referred to as ‘pigeon poop’ by her family and friends, a sweet tradition that brought smiles and laughter to every gathering.
Always stylish and full of grace, Lou took pride in presenting herself with elegance, even on the most casual of days. One of her grandsons affectionately nicknamed her “Cool Girl,” a fitting tribute to her timeless spirit and charm.
Lou is survived by her children, Loretta Amanda Lampard, Andrea Rene May, Karen Marie Greenhaw, Rhett Harrison May, Donald DeRay Roberts, Steven Ray Roberts, Scott Beitz, and Shawnee Marie Beitz; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Juanita Wiggins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Beitz, her parents, Cornelius and Theola LaCombe, and siblings.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 213 Fairview Cemetery Drive, Winnie.
