Lunell C. Stanley

July 2, 1939 - July 1, 2021

Lunell Crawford Stanley made her entrance into this world to the parents of Flora and Raiford Crawford on July 2, 1939 and went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2021.

She spent her childhood and youth years in Beaumont, Texas where she attended South Park schools and Lamar University.  In 1959 she transferred to Howard Payne University where she met her future husband, David.  They were married in August 1959 after which Lunell continued her education at TCU where she earned a degree in elementary education.  She had a long career as second grade teacher for the Angleton Independent School District.  Mrs. Stanley was active in the First Baptist Church of Angleton in various areas including teaching second grade Sunday School, a choir member, and youth worker. 

Survivors include her husband, David Stanley; children, Mark Stanley and his wife, Kathy, of Tool; Alan Stanley and his wife, Judy, of Lumberton; and Gina Rogers and her husband, Bryan, of Garland; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gerry Juhan of Beaumont; Eloise Wooley of Washington; Thurman Crawford and his wife, Carolyn of Boerne; and Wayne Crawford and his wife, Candy, of Austin.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Stanley’s family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Center Grove Cemetery, 5957 FM 2500, Livingston.

David I was so sorry to hear about Lunell! I taught school with her at Southside Elem and Rancho Elem. She was so sweet and kind to everyone. She loved her family so much and shared stories about them. I will keep yall in my prayers.
