Luz Barcenas

Luz Barcenas, 72, of Winnie, died Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1954, in Mexico, to Pedro and Francisca Marquez.

Survivors include her husband, Bulmaro Rosas Barcenas; children, Eduardo Moreno, Juan Moreno, Sagrario Herrera (Narciso), Pedro Moreno (Erin), Anna Rocha (Andres), Hipolito Moreno (Kristy Moreno), Elizabeth Herrera (Miguel), Rebecca Moreno, Lucy Gomez; grandchildren, Hezekiah, Devin, Emerald, Tristan, Alexis, Adrian, Katelyn, Marcos, Trevor, Sophia, Jose, Jesus, Luz, Ricardo, Andres Jr., Mia, Selena, Damion, Leland, Nathan, Hector, Domingo Jr., Anna, Miguel Jr., Anthony; great-grandchildren, Saint, Nico, Kamilla, Romeo, and Dawson; sister, Esperanza Marquez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Luz is preceded in death by, parents; brother, Miguel Martinez; sister, Aurelia Pineda Ramirez; and grandson, Jose Alberto Anaya.

Mrs. Barcenas was an excellent cook and loved sharing it with her family. She was very loving, generous and helpful to those around her. She also spent her time solving puzzles, gardening, tending to her beloved chickens and animals. She truly was a caregiver at heart.

A gathering of Mrs. Barcenas’s family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
