Maggie Hopper
Maggie Hopper, 24, of Nederland, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 17, 2025, with her loving family and church friends by her side. Maggie was a firm believer in God and was comforted by her strong faith in Jesus and by the love of her family and friends.
Maggie was born on November 21, 2000, in Beaumont, Texas to Brad and Monica (Moni) Hopper. Maggie was a fun, loving, and spunky individual. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont where she taught Sunday school and was an AWANA’s leader. She also donated her time to the church and community by helping with Vacation Bible Schools, Church camps, Mission Arlington, and with Renewal, the young adult’s ministry. Maggie graduated from Nederland High School and received a BS in Education from Lamar University. She worked as a twirling sponsor at C.O.Wilson middle school, a twirling instructor at Twirls and Swirls, and as a substitute teacher for Nederland ISD. She enjoyed scratch baking, crocheting, needlepoint, live concerts, traveling, her animals, and the favorite of them all going to her family lake house at Toledo Bend. She also loved her family’s Disneyworld vacations. She loved and savored spending time with her family during the holidays and playing board games.
We will remember her for her faith and love in the Lord Jesus Christ and all of the joy she spread to all by being Jesus to everyone she met. She will be missed and will always be loved by so many. She will leave a huge hole in many hearts.
Maggie lived her life in obedience to her confirmation Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”
Maggie is preceded in death by her grandparents; Dr. Jack Hopper, and Pat and U.E. DuPlant.
She is survived by her parents, Brad and Moni Hopper, and her brother, Holden Hopper.

A gathering of Maggie’s family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

She brought so much joy, whenever I would see her in school, and saw her in the hallway she always had a smile on her face and always gave the biggest hugs ever, she’s a beautiful angel. You all will be in my heart
I had the experience of teaching Maggie English and then working with her on her college admission endeavors. Maggie always came in smiling and eager to learn. She was a bubbly, confident, warm, caring person with whom I always looked forward to working. My thoughts and prayers have been with Moni, Holden, and Brad all week, and especially today as you all continue to mourn this tragic loss.
So very sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family.

You all did a great job taking care of Maggie. She’s telling everyone in Heaven about all of you now and your pets and your pig. SHe probably asked God to send us snow so she could watch our joy and cheer us up a little. Our church enjoyed cheering for her for five years. You are a great family. We hurt for you and hope God will grant you peace. One day you will hug her again!

I met Maggie when I came back to Texas from Harvard because the band directors from Nederland told me that there was a girl that they knew who reminded them of me – a twirler, a drum major, a very talented musician – with a great positive attitude. I’ll be the first to say that yes maybe Maggie and I were a lot a like in all of these fantastic, talented ways – but she was certainly a lot nicer than me and certainly more forgiving. And those curls! Those dimples! Gorgeous.
I want to thank Maggie’s parents and the rest of her family for raising such an incredible young woman – and to all of the folks in and around Nederland who touched her life. My heart also goes out to her pets which I knew she loved and to her peers whose hearts she blessed with her smiles.
I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to hang out more – it’s been a crazy few years, but I’m so proud of you, Maggie! I’ll miss you very dearly – knowing you were around always made me feel less alone.

Her spirit was the sweetest I’ve known. Her faith and positivity were paramount in her life and she lived large in that. Prayers for you guys during this very difficult time.
It has been a privilege to have known Maggie.
I never had the privilege of meeting Maggie. However, I know her Mom, Moni very well. It sounds like Maggie was just as sweet, spontaneous and full of love for others as her mom was. For this, I know she will be missed here on earth and believe she was welcomed with open arms in heaven and greeted by her grandparents. Prayers for peace for Moni, Brad and Holden.

I know that not much helps right now, Moni and family, but just remember there is no more pain for Maggie who is sitting at the feet of her Savior.
