Marc Blieden

December 16, 1943 - September 11, 2020

David Marcus “Marc” Blieden was born on December 16, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas. His parents were Dorothy Nesmith Blieden and William Blieden. He graduated from Peacock Military Academy in 1962. Marc passed away on September 11, 2020.

He is survived by his sister, Valry Blieden Tryer and her husband, Thomas Tryer, of Witchita Falls. There are nephews, cousins, family, friends, and “Kissing Kin” with whom he shared his life.

Marc’s love of God began early as his family participated in the beginning of Trinity United Methodist Church, a very place to Marc. Over the decades he was active in other congregations including Wesley United Methodist Church.

Also, dear to Marc’s heart were the military, police, firemen, and first responders. During this COVID-19 pandemic he helped to organize various groups to honor the hospital workers with a parade. He graduated from the Beaumont Citizen Police Academy. He especially enjoyed his activities with the Citizens in Action Unit.

Marc gladly helped in various political campaigns as he wanted the best for his community and nation.

Championing someone in need was his calling. He helped friends and strangers in many way: a trip to the store or airport, a phone call or even helping with fundraisers for individuals he had not met but were in need.

A lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, he touched countless lives and will be missed.

I have called and called trying to find him and something told me to check the obits. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. I never got to meet him in person but he stepped into my life via chats when my dad died and kind of filled that void for me. He always picked on me and my son. He called him peanut. He was so very sweet. We had met over Facebook through a Hurricane group in 2016. He was a great friend and he loved people. He has been missed but I’m thankful that I know what happened. My condolences to the family and friends that knew him better than me. Love you Marc, you will be missed but never forgotten.

Thank you for being my sweet sweet friend. You sure left a gap. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ... in Heaven this time. I know you got some big ole wings carrying you now. Send me a feather now and then...
