Marcus M. Grimes, 83, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born May 15, 1939, in Zavalla, to Mattie Bell Cryer Grimes and James William Grimes.

Marcus is survived by his wife, Wanda Grimes of Beaumont; daughters, Renee Friddle of Beaumont; Carmen Grimes of Lumberton; son, Tony Grimes and his wife, Melissa, of Shenandough; brother, Johnny Grimes of Orange; sisters, Dorothy Hamilton of Clute; Rose Ellis and her husband, Jerry, of Huntington; grandchildren, David Cardenas; Carlena Tovar; Chase Guillory; Seth Roberts; Katie Roberts; Claire Grimes; Samuel Grimes; great-grandchildren, Jayden Marsden; Dez Tovar; Cyrus Tovar; Madilyn Sullivan; Zane Laird; Lucas Laird; and Carson Kemp.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeramy Grimes; sisters, Viola Noe; Naomi Dykes; Mary Bell Sanchez; and brother, Tommy Grimes.

A gathering of Mr. Grimes’ family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Dunk Havard Cemetery, Zavalla.
