Margaret “Kay” Plaia Martindale
Margaret “Kay” Plaia Martindale, 88, of Lumberton, died Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was born September 9, 1937, to Bessie Mazzola and Joseph Tremont Plaia, in Beaumont.
Kay was a loving mother and maw-maw, she was a lifelong member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She will always be remembered for her family Sunday dinners, especially her pasta.
Survivors include her sons, Robert A. Martindale and his wife, Dora, Michael D. Martindale and his wife, Carolyn, Randall J. Martindale, and Richard A. Martindale; granddaughters, Mallory Grifo and her husband, Scott, Devin Wolf and her husband, Andrew, Lily Martindale, and Jessica Ramirez and her husband, David; grandsons, Lucus Martindale and J.D. Rader; great-grandsons, Lincoln Wolf, Russell Grifo, George Grifo, Michael Grifo, and Lexin Ramirez; great- granddaughters, Olive Wolf and Ruby Rader; brothers, Terry Plaia and his wife, Darlene and Chris Plaia; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Plaia Shaw and Jo Ellen Roy; and brother, Jerry L. Plaia.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church Youth Group, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, Texas 77708.
A gathering of Ms. Martindale’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 15. 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

Margaret will be dearly missed.
Margie was a wonderful person , loved her family and loyal to her church. Sadden by this news. My prayers go out to the entire family.
