Margaret “Nannie” Hillebrandt Barnes

Margaret “Nannie” Hillebrandt Barnes, 99, of Beaumont, died Thursday, January 1, 2026. She was born on September 23, 1926, to Annie Frerich Hillebrandt and Elisha I. Hillebrandt, in Beaumont.

Nannie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had been a lifelong resident of Beaumont. Most of her life was spent as a caregiver, caring for her husband, mother, and father until they passed. Nannie will be remembered fondly by all the children she cared for throughout her ninety-nine years of life as well as countless others that have been touched by her love and giving nature. She will be missed.

Survivors include her children, Carolyn Williams and her husband, Larry; Boyce Barnes and his wife, Cathy; and Brenda Gillard and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Vickie Rodriguez and her husband, Ray; Theresa Gibson and her husband, Ronnie; Ann Barnes and her wife, Krista; Angela Rodriguez and her husband, Ruben; and James Gillard and his wife, Keeya; great-grandchildren, Anthony Rodriguez, Alys Marken and her husband, Dennis, Ashley Wick and her husband, Cyril, Bralon Tate and his wife, Jessica, Caleb Moore, Nicholas Moore and his wife, Ashlynn, Tanner Hernandez, Dominic Rodriguez, and Garrett Gillard; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyce H. Barnes; sister, Claire Boudreaux; brother, Issac Hillebrandt; sister, Annie May Salles; brother, Bernard Hillebrandt; and sisters, Agnes Beaver and Olevia Holt.

A gathering of Mrs. Barnes’ family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Hillebrandt Cemetery, Beaumont.
