    Lorna Sonnier-Diaz says:

She was my neighbor on Hooks St.
I loved her and Mr. Turner!
She told me why her house always smelled so good. It was the ‘Potato Chip’ cookies that Mr Turner loved she said. She baked a batch every day for him.
    I make that recipe often!
She and Mr Turner were the best! When we moved to the country….Mr Turner sat on my tractor. I have pics!!!
    All my love!!!

so many great memories of “ Mrs. Turner” from my youth. She always welcomed us into her back yard after climbing her fence. She was our grandmother of Ida Reed. Always having a smile and anxious to hear of our adventures. Her excitement in life was infectious. Our world was a better place with her in it. Now heaven will know her joy.

I volunteered with Mrs Turner at the Beaumont Heritage Society tour of the Phelan Mansion one day in the early 1980s. She was such a gracious, sweet, and lovely lady she made a lasting impression. I still remember her after all these years..

Ms. Margaret was a part of RCIA when I was attending and learning about being a Catholic Christian. She was always, always welcoming and supportive and I loved her for her living faith that she shared with all of us catechumens. When I would see her at Mass, she would always acknowledge me and I would seek her out as well. She was a wonderfully precious lady and all of us who knew her were richer for her presence. The world now, is a little less brighter by her absence. Rest well Ms. Margaret. God Bless her family and friends.

Mrs Turner was a very kind person. I was her paper boy in the 1970s. She and Mr. Turner often gave me cookies and milk. Later in the 1980s, Mrs Turner worked at the election table and she always encouraged you to vote. Just a few years ago I saw her often at Sat evening Mass at St Anne. with her daughter She was part of the generation that believed in active participation in church as well as civic duties. She was a wonderful person.

I was blessed to get to know Mrs. Turner through RCIA and she became my sponsor. It was special to learn she had a long friendship with Lucy Nosek (Janey Phelan's mom) before our meeting. I asked her to be my "Godmother" and she celebrated many special occasions (Baptisms and First Communions) with my family and our extended family. Dearest, sweetest woman who I will remember fondly and miss greatly. My sincere condolences, Dynasy Phelan
