Margie Lou Baker Boren

October 12, 1926 - January 3, 2022

Margie Lou Baker Boren, 95, of Nederland, died Monday, January 3, 2022. She was born on October 12, 1926, in Beaumont, to Madge Pomeroy Baker and Edward Roy Baker.

Margie was a Registered Nurse for over thirty-three years at several local hospitals. She volunteered at Some Other Place for many years and sewed dresses for their Back-to-School Drive. Margie loved her poodles. She will be remembered as a loving mother and Granny.

Survivors include her sons, William Boren and his wife, Becky, of Elgin; Edward Boren and his wife, Andrea, of Plano; and Charles Boren and his wife, Beth, of Nederland; daughter, Carolyn Kay Hancock and her husband, Richard, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Andrew Boren; Jennifer Boren; Ann Gaspard and her husband, Jimmy; David Fuston; Joseph Hancock; Martha Johnson and her husband, Sam; Leah Hernandez and her husband, Derek; Brandon Boren and his wife, Jordan; and Brett Boren; great-grandchildren, Adaline, Annika, Landyn, Leighland, Alexia, and Emma; sister, Rebekah Ann Judah of Montgomery; nieces, Elizabeth Kelly and Lenore Judah; and nephew, Henry Judah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Bradley Boren.

A gathering of Ms. Boren’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

    Lovely caring person. I still remember the warm blanket she provided in an operating room years ago and how delighted the many girls were who received her handmade dresses.
