Margie Kay McAleer

February 3, 1959 - February 11, 2022

Margie Kay McAleer, 63, passed away on February 11, 2022. She was born February 3, 1959, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Lillian and Willie Dubriel, Sr. She was a graduate of Rapides High School in 1977 and received her Associate in nursing at Louisiana State University in 1979. She began her nursing career at Rapides in Alexandria, Louisiana, and then to Saint Patricks in Lake Charles, Louisiana before coming to Beaumont, Texas, with her sister Debbie Ramirez. In Beaumont she worked at Saint Elizabeth’s in the surgery and neonatal ICU unit and then became a nurse auditor for different companies in Texas and Louisiana for 15 years.

During the summer of 1985 she met Mike J. McAleer at Saint Anne’s church in Beaumont, Texas, and married her love on June 7, 1986. Followed by a beautiful honeymoon to New England where she always wanted to go visit. Throughout the years she was dedicated to her work and husband, then adopted and blessed 5 children, Kayla, Melanie, Michael Jr, Julia, and Cody. Margie was a loving, caring, strong, independent, hard-working woman who had a big heart and was big in her faith. She would put her family and friends before herself but that was the kind of person Margie was.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael J McAleer, Sr.; daughters, Kayla McAleer, Melanie McAleer, and Julia McAleer; sons, Michael J McAleer, Jr. and Cody McAleer along with 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Jordynn, Jazmynn, Noah, Kayden, and Selena and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Margie is also survived by her mother, Lillian Dubriel; sisters, Charlotte Parks, Pam Robinson, and Debra Ramirez; and brothers, Williie Dubriel, Jr. and Ricky Dubriel. She is predeceased by her father Willie Dubriel, Sr.

A gathering of Mrs. McAleer’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
