Marilyn June Maxwell Williamson
Marilyn June Maxwell Williamson was born on October 1, 1949 in Urania, Louisiana to Glen and Mary Maxwell. She fell asleep in death on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 73 years of age. She is survived by her mother Mary Maxwell of Beaumont, TX; her stepdaughter Deon Kammerath and husband Marc of Marana, AZ; her stepson Robert George Williamson and wife Justine of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; her sister Karen Maxwell McKinney and husband Ed of Lumberton, TX; her sister Melanie Maxwell Rivers of Beaumont, TX; her niece Karissa Rokovich of Austin, TX; her nephews Matt Rokovich of Houston, TX; Nathan and Chris Rivers of Lumberton, TX; and Paden Rivers of Yoakum, TX; as well as 3 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Garner Williamson, her father Glen Maxwell, and great-nephew Gavin Rivers.
Marilyn dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the age of 14 at the “Everlasting Good News” Assembly, which was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA in 1963. After graduation, she began her full-time ministry and enjoyed spending time preaching and teaching others about Jehovah.
She married Robert Williamson on October 7, 1978 and they were happily married for 32 years. During that time, they enjoyed their full-time ministry together after Robert retired, traveling around the country visiting family and friends, and exploring different countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Russia and South Africa.
Marilyn had a passion for learning, art, and genealogy. She taught herself to play the piano at a young age, and found great pleasure in painting. She was very talented at photography, and thanks to her, many possess photo “memories” that they wouldn’t have otherwise. She was also a wealth of knowledge when it came to the family’s genealogical history, and loved to share her findings with her family.
Her family is comforted to know that she strongly believed in the promises and hope Jehovah has for her. In a letter to her family in 2005, Marilyn wrote:
“My faith is strong in the resurrection and I look forward to seeing you all in the new world. Know how much I love each one of my dear family. Please stay faithful to Jehovah.”
She will truly be missed, and we look forward to seeing her in the paradise that she longed to see, where she will no doubt continue collecting stories of her ancestors, but be able to do so straight from the source!

There was a family graveside service at China Cemetery on Friday, December 9th. A memorial service will be held in-person and virtually on Sunday, December 18th at 3:30 p.m.

Marilyn was such a sweet soft spoken lady. I met her years ago and I am so proud to have called her my friend. She will be missed. To her family, I send my love to all of you. May Jehovah continue to comfort all of you.????????????????❤️❤️
I recall how Glen’s face would light up when talking about his family, especially his daughters…they all showed him they had deep love for Jehovah God, in their own unique ways.

Marlilyn was such a sweet and loving sister. Was always kind and loving to everyone. She and Bob were such wonderful examples for all of us. She will be dearly missed. It won’t be long before we see her again❤️❤️
It’s so encouraging to see those we knew as children continue on the road to life with Jehovah. I look forward to seeing her again.
Awwhhhh Marilyn…. I knew her ( and her family) before she married Bob and moved to Orange . It was in Orange that she influenced me ( Kelley) to re enter the full time service again. Good memories of being with both her and Bob in the Ministry and look forward to making good memories in the future with both of them. I will always remember Marilyn and how loving she was and so happy that Bob had her in his life. My mother Peggy loved both of them dearly! I met and fell in love with the whole Maxwell family when I moved in with my sister Sandra Penuel in 1967.
Marilyn and I became good friends who spent much time together. She often would come to visit at our house and would end up spending the night, we had such a good time together. Over the years we lost contact but she never left my heart. What a wonderful amazing person.
A Sister in our congregation was interviewed how she dealt with knowing her death was imminent and her answer has stuck with me she said “ I am not afraid Jehovah will know where I am”. This applies to Marilyn also Jehovah knows where she is and very soon He will call and she will answer.
Sister Maxwell, Karen, Melaine I love y’all and you are in my prayers.

There will never be another like our aunt Marilyn. The purest of heart and intention, always putting others ahead of herself. We are all absolutely gutted by this shocking loss.
She was the nucleus. The family historian, photographer, and motherly figure for us all.
AM was the curator of my escape hatch as a kid. Though she and uncle Bob only lived 20 miles away, a weekend with them was an immeasurable gift.
Who wouldn’t want a weekend of total attention and fun?
We wore out her Linda Ronstadt and The Judds cassettes on those round-trips.
As more grandkids were born, a reservation was definitely required (not just recommended). It was the hottest ticket off El Paso St.
AM saw and nurtured creativity in me and she inspired many others in countless ways.
She gave me my first sketch book. Put cheats on the piano keys and taught me “Chopsticks” and “Heart & Soul”. Introduced me to the whispering world of Bob Ross. Took me to the library, theater, and first art museum. I loved every minute, and Saturday morning donuts at Big B was just a cherry topper.
Aunt Marilyn exhibited the real-deal unconditional love most people just talk about.
While my heart is shattered and the tears won’t stop, I am finding solace in the knowledge she truly loved me. And I truly loved her. Her relationships with her sisters and each of us grandkids were unique and incredibly special. I will always cherish our 2 hr calls and miss that infectious laugh.

Some of my special memories are when I pioneered with Marilyn in the 80’s. She was a good teacher, and I can picture her teaching the resurrected ones in paradise. I am looking forward to seeing her again. May Jehovah comfort you during this difficult time.
Marilyn, like Bob, her dear husband, has left us all with many precious memories. These will comfort us until we can see them again when they are set free from our greatest enemy, death.

Marilyn holds a special place in our hearts! We also have the hope of seeing her very soon. Her love for Jehovah was paramount and her faith was to be imitated. Our prayers are with the family now. May we all stay strong!

I am thankful to have shared many memories with Aunt Marilyn. My son, Luke loved telling me about the family genealogy information that Marilyn had learned about. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this very difficult time.
Dear Sweet Marilyn was one of the sweetest most thoughtful person I’ve ever known. Her lifelong love for Jehovah was amazing! So glad we will see her soon.
When Jehovah presented Bob and Marilyn to me as teachers and friends, aiding me to become ‘sister’ to them both, he gifted me with the exact person I needed. I loved them both instantly, still do, always will, and can not wait to see them both after Jehovah wakes them both up. Broken hearts and tears treasured. My love and prayers go out for all of the family she loved so dearly. MYM
