Marilyn “MeMe” Carol Lavergne
Marilyn “MeMe” Carol Lavergne, 87, beloved mother and grandmother, of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1938, in Houston, to Alma Ruth Stewart Isbel and John Lee Isbel.
Marilyn worked for Weingarten’s Grocery Store as a clerk, and at Rogers Brother’s Lab making eyeglasses. Later she retired from Port Printers where she was self-employed along with her husband and two of her children.
She loved having the entire family over for holidays and birthdays. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening and cooking. She made her granddaughters matching dresses several times for different occasions and liked to decorate cakes for birthdays. She also enjoyed planting flowers and an occasional vegetable garden. Marilyn’s most precious gifts were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will hold these fond memories of her for all time. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by us all.
Survivors include her children, George Lavergne, Jr. and his wife, Jaylynn; Cathy Wilson and her husband, John; and Donald Lavergne and his wife, Susan; all of Vidor; grandchildren, Randall Lavergne and his wife, Callie, of Kemah; Marc Lavergne and his wife, Teri, of Vidor; Jeff Wilson, Megan Wilson, Bethany Wilson, all of Vidor; and Nicole Breaux and her husband, Jacob, of Beaumont; and great-grandchildren, Katherine Lavergne, Thomas Lavergne, and Baylor Lavergne, all of Beaumont.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Isbel; husband of fifty-two years, George Lavergne, Sr.; and stepfather, Leon LeBlanc.
A gathering of Mrs. Lavergne’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
