Marlon Bruce Freeman
Marlon Bruce Freeman, 66, of Kountze, died Thursday, July 3, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1958, in Kountze, to Carolyn Dees Freeman and Marvin Freeman.
Marlon was a hard-working man and a devoted, loving husband to his wife Jodie for over 44 years. His greatest joy came from being with his family—spending time in the woods, hunting, fishing, and riding through the trails on his side-by-side with his grandkids by his side. He lived for his family and would do anything for them.
Marlon had a phrase he shared everywhere he went: “Life is good.” And he meant it.
He brought laughter to every gathering, whether it was with friends or family, and he never met a stranger. His stories, his jokes, and his warm presence made him the life of every party. He was well-loved and deeply respected by his work family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Marlon was truly one of a kind. While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we will forever carry him with us—remembering his love, his laughter, and the way he made life feel just a little bit lighter.
We’ll honor his legacy by continuing to love hard, laugh often, and always remember: “Life is good.”
Survivors include his loving wife, Jodi Freeman; children, Jason Freeman and his wife, Amber, of Kountze; and Jeremy Freeman and his wife, Britley, of Buna; grandchildren, Hunter Houston, Heath Freeman, Lili Walker, Landon Freeman, Addisyn Freeman, Gracelyn Freeman and Kaselyn Freeman; parents, Carolyn and Marvin Freeman, of Kountze; siblings, Karen Israel and her husband, Eldon, of San Angelo; and Danny Freeman and his wife, Cheryl, of Batson.
A memorial service for Mr. Freeman will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
