I knew Martha through Beaumont Christian Women/s Club which was started in 1981. I remember going to her home many times for prayer meetings. Her Mother had also attended whom I had met. I have many dear memories of her.

    Jay Old says:

I loved Mrs. Salim and remember her as a great teacher who had the patience of Jobe. She taught me in 6th grade. She was a wonderful person, who cared for her students. She was reading Charolotte’s Web aloud to our class when I was pulled out of the room because of a family tragedy. She was incredibly kind to me before and especially after that, when I was extremely vulnerable. I’m proud to have been one of her many students. The world is better because of her.

My condolences to the family of Martha Salim. She was a very sweet lady. My mother, Martha Smith, enjoyed her friendship with Martha. They always had a great time when they were together. They were also both members at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in the South Park area of Beaumont. Lots of friends and memories made at that church.
