Martha Virginia Ealy Morrison

October 11, 1937 - May 19, 2025

Martha Virginia Ealy Morrison, 87, of Nederland died Monday, May 19, 2025.  She was born on October 11, 1937, in Muskogee, Oklahoma ,to Nora Evelyn Condit Ealy and Harry Leo Ealy. She was raised in Nederland and graduated from Nederland High School in 1956.

Martha was a life-long member of First Methodist Church of Nederland. She was active for many years in United Methodist Women. She also played in the church handbell choir. Before she had children she worked at Gulf States in the billing department. After her children were older, she was a Mother’s Day Out teacher for ten plus years. Martha liked crocheting, tatting, sewing, camping, playing her piano, and taking care of her plants. She was an all-day coffee drinker and enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table sharing a cup of coffee with her sisters, family, and friends. She loved vacationing with her sisters. Above everything else Martha got the most joy in spending time with her family. Even in her last years she played games with the great grandkids and sat on the floor to play with the babies. She was very proud of all of them.

Survivors include her children, Barry Morrison and wife, Lisa; Garry Morrison and wife, Christy; and Connie Johnson and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Will Morrison and wife, Vanessa; Crystal Jeans and husband, Lance; Tracy Hebert and husband, Matthew; Morgan Ueding and husband, Matt; Chris Hammond; Rachel Morrison; Meagan Lovell and husband, Ryan; and Drew Johnson; great grandchildren, Slade, Justin, Colton, Noelle, Kennedy, Layla, Henry, Bailey, Dali, Sophie, Eliza, Oakley, Shiloh, and Parker; sister, Janet Ealy Quebedeaux and her husband, Raymond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dwain Starlin Morrison; her parents; infant son; and sister; Harriet Ealy Shipman.

A gathering of Mrs. Morrison’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday May 23, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

    I so much regret not being able to attend your Dad’s funeral. I first met him when we started 1st grade and your mother was in my sister’s grade. They were two wonderful Christian people, and I know they loved you kids without bounds. May God bless you in these difficult days
