Mary Anne Clubb

November 3, 1938 - August 17, 2025

Mary Anne Clubb, 86, of Hamshire, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025. She was born on November 3, 1938, in Beaumont.

Mary Anne’s early life was challenging, but at the age of 12 she was taken in by Rodney and Dora Christ, better known as Mawmaw and Pawpaw, and a new life began. Their love and guidance helped shape the strong, compassionate woman she would become.

Mary Anne lived her life as a devoted and faithful servant, guided by her deep faith and love for the Lord. She was an active member of her church and dedicated much of her time and energy to helping others through her work with St. Vincent De Paul. Her commitment to her service and her generosity of spirit were a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Mary Anne shared a deep and abiding love with her late husband, Herbert Lee Clubb. They were married for 32 wonderful years, filling their life together with laughter, joy, and devotion. Both were faithful Christians, and their love for each other and for God was evident to all who knew them.

Those blessed to know Mary Anne will remember her as feisty, full of life, and unafraid to speak her mind. She had a remarkable way of bringing joy and laughter to every room she entered. Mary Anne also expressed her love through the comforts she shared in the kitchen – no one could ever turn down her famous rice and gravy, a dish made with love that brought warmth to all who enjoyed it. She cherished simple pleasures, especially sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, soaking in the quiet of the morning and the beauty of God’s creation.

Of all her blessings, Mary Anne was most proud of her family. She deeply loved her children, but her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored watching them grow, celebrating their achievements, and sharing in their lives. Her pride in them was evident in every conversation, every visit, and every moment spent together. They were truly the center of her heart, and her love and guidance will continue to shine through them.

Mary Anne had a playful spirit that shone brightest when she was gathered around the table with family and friends, ready for a fierce round of Wahoo or Uno. She was known for her competitive nature, always eager to play her best and bring a little extra excitement to the game. Whether winning or losing, her infectious laughter and quick wit made every game memorable, and it was these moments of joy and camaraderie that truly defined her vibrant personality. Her love for these simple yet cherished moments will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of playing alongside her.

Survivors include her children, Kim Conn, Johnny Wilber (Stella), Michele Clubb, and Anna Petri (Tom); grandchildren, Ryan Conn (Brandi), Dawson Wilber, Colton Wilber (Krista), Weston Wilber, Christine Powell (Clay), Matt Petri; great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Kami, Blayde, Delayni, Gentry, Sage, Sierra, and Lexi; siblings, Jeanette Bourque, Dick Christ (Lynne), and Gale Christ (Donna); caregiver, Faye Mays; bonus daughters, Kelly Toups, Tori Green, Monte Wilber, Connie Myers, and Tonya Jolly; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Lee Clubb; parents; and brother, R.B. Christ.

A gathering of Mrs. Clubb’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. I truly believe God lead us to live across the street from Herbert and Mary Anne. They ask me to volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in 2003, where we worked side by side making our community better. She was always a joy to be around. Going to have a hard time telling my GreatGrandSon Eli about her passing. When he stayed with me, he always wanted to go visit her, if we bought plants for the yard, he ask if we could buy her some as well. We had a special bond. I can picture you and Herbert dancing in heaven.

I am so fortunate to have been able to have this beautiful person as one of my best friends, but also my voice of reason. Thank you Johnny and Kim for having such big hearts and sharing her with us. She touched many of us that needed her wisdom and strength to make sure we could live our best lives. Our favorite thing to do was to drink coffee on the front porch and talk for hours. Yes it was mostly about our kids and grandkids and we were both so proud. She sure did make me feel proud of my babies and she would have the biggest smile when we talked about how good God is. We would always end the day with a big hug and she would say I love you and I would reply I love you more. Forever in my heart.
