Mary Belle Fisher
Mary Belle Fisher, 93, of Lumberton, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 19, 1931, to Myrtle and Clarence Ball in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Griffin, Georgia, where she met the love of her life, Russell Fisher, an Army paratrooper stationed at Fort Benning Georgia. Russell and Mary Belle married on November 8,1954 and she moved to Beaumont, Texas, where they created a joyous life together.
Mary Belle was a dedicated homemaker who embraced her role with deep commitment. She took immense pride in maintaining her home and an even greater delight in caring for her family. Her many hobbies included spending time at their lake house on Toledo Bend, traveling with cherished friends, and reading books on her back patio. She was also a member of Woodcrest United Methodist Church and spent many Sundays in Sunday School and at Sunday Services.
The thing that brought her most joy was spending time with her family. She grew up as an only child and delighted in her daughters and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nana, as she was affectionately known by many, was a staple at their extracurricular activities. Whether it was cheerleading camp, a baseball game or a school performance, you can be sure that she was there in the audience watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with immense pride. She counted family as one of her greatest blessings and thanked God for them daily.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70 years, Russell Fisher; daughters, Susan Arnaud and her husband, Eddie and Julie Canizaro and her husband Dennis, all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Stephanie Corbell and her husband, Cody, Chris Arnaud and his wife Katy, Sara Pace and her husband, Lee, Brittni McCrary and her husband, John, Ryan Canizaro and his wife, Toree, and Elise Canizaro; great-grandchildren, Reed, Millie, Lillian, Lee Walton, Liam, Kruze, Kade, Quinn, and coming in March, Harrison. As well as numerous close friends who were touched by Nana’s life.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever guide us, reminding us to cherish each moment, love deeply, and keep family close.
The family expresses a special thanks to all the caregivers that dedicated their time and love to Nana. Thank you, Amy, Tina, Moe, Carly, Beth and Yolanda.

Mary Belle was a beautiful Southern Bell I loved to listen to hear speak of her family always with a sparkle in her eyes. They traveled all-over with my parents. The stories Dad and Mom would come home and talk about were so funny to listen to. Although they traveled to many places Branson Missouri was their favorite place to visit. She will be missed. May God watch over the family and give them peace knowing she has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. May all the memories of her beautiful life give you comfort as you remember all the wonderful times and memories you made together. May you Rest in Peace Mary Belle.
Mary Belle was such a sweet lady, he and Russell walked in our neighborhood most every morning and she always had a smile on her face. We know she’s smiling down on Russell for Heaven ! Prayers for the family

Mr. Fisher,Susan and Julie, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Fisher. She was a very sweet and kind lady. One of my favorite memories of her was the taste of her wonderful chocolate chip cookies she made for our parties at Lucas Elementary. My love and prayers are being sent your w. May God bless you with His peace and comfort at this difficult time.
My wife Pam and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Mary Belle Fisher. We are neighbors of the Fishers in Lumberton. We moved across from them in July of 2020 and they quickly welcomed us to the neighborhood and helped us to feel at home. It is my habit to walk early in the morning and I often saw Russell and Miss Mary Belle walking together and would speak to them or wave at them. I was impressed at how active both of them were. They provided a good example of continuing to be active. What a great inspiration she was for all of her family and friends. We extend our condolences to her family in this difficult time. May God be with you. Marcus Shook
