Mary Beth “MiMi” Cox
Mary Beth “MiMi” Cox, 80, of Kountze, died Thursday, September 2, 2021. She was born June 23, 1941, in Port Arthur, to Lilla Belle Butaud Smith and Leeman Byron Smith.
Mary Beth was an avid Astros fan and she loved sweets. Above all else, she cherished Jesus and spending time with her husband, brother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Jimmie Allen Cox; daughters, Kathy Ann Davis and husband, Bradley; Karen Koch Roebuck and husband, Tom; and Jan Hanks Stopps and husband, Mark; brother, Robert L. Smith; grandchildren, Keaton Koch and wife, Liesha; Breah Roberts and husband, Blaine; Chance Davis and wife, Michayla; Alyson Roebuck; Madison Stopps; Mason Stopps; and six Roebuck grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, Hadley Roberts; Laine Kate Roberts; Roman Koch; Eden Koch; Karter Davis; Kamryn Davis; and fourteen Roebuck great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lilla and Leeman Smith and sister, Laura Lee Strange.
A gathering of Mrs. Cox’s family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Mary always made you feel welcome. She loved her family well, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She raised three beautiful daughters, and I have been blessed to be close long-time friends with Karen. May each member of her family be comforted by their wonderful memories and by knowing she is resting in the arms of Christ, our Savior.
