Mary Catherine Abbott

Mary Catherine Abbott, 67, of Buna, died Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1955, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Patricia Wynne Hester and Truman Hester.

Survivors include her children, Theresa McGallion of Houston; Christina Jack and her husband, Israel, of Bacliff; and April Johnson and her husband, Bradly, of Buna; grandchildren, Tabitha Konarik  and Tyler Konarik of Houston; Destiny Wilson and Faith Wilson of Bacliff; Baylie Johnson, Ashlyn Johnson, and Dalton Johnson all of Buna; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Fitzsimmons of Cypress and Ava Konarik; siblings, Sue Josey and her husband, William, of Buna; Greg Hester and his spouse, Chris Bentsen, of Hempstead; Scott Hester and his wife, Melinda, of Papillion, Nebraska; and Elizabeth Welch and her husband, Lynn, of Maurice, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Carson Johnson.

A gathering of Mrs. Abbott’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. with her service at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
