Mary Jane Ray Perry
Mary Jane Ray Perry, 82, of Buna, went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born on February 21, 1942, to James Joshua Ray and Martha Marsoleete Coleman. Mary’s life was one of unwavering faith, steadfast devotion, and boundless love for her family. Her love for the Lord and her Pentecostal faith shaped everything she did.
In 1961, Mary married her loving husband John Ray Perry, Sr. “Neg”. Together, they raised a family rooted in faith, love, and Christ. Neg predeceased her in 2021, and Mary has since carried on their shared faith, often recounting the many blessings of their life together.
Mary was a member of Buna United Pentecostal Church. She believed in the power of prayer and her faith touched the hearts of all who knew her. She loved her church family deeply.
She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory, her faith, and her unwavering love. Though she is no longer with us in body, we find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, surrounded by His love and peace.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna LaFosse and her husband, Boogie, of Buna; daughter-in-law, Maria Perry of Cherokee; grandchildren, Josh LaFosse; Jessica Perry Coleman and her husband, Tyler, of Denham Springs, Louisiana; Gracie Perry, and fiancé, Asher Webb, of Cherokee; and Rolando Davis and his wife, Marissa, of Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Coleman, Cole Davis, Ember Davis, Oakleigh Davis, Oren Davis, and Sage Davis; sister, Jimmie Moses and her husband, Robert “Bobby”; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ray Perry, Sr.; sons, John Perry, Jr. and Michael Perry; and sister, Carolyn Hardin.
A homegoing celebration will be held at Buna United Pentecostal Church, 116 CR 833, Buna, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee on Monday, October 21, 2024. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Her interment will follow at Sudduth Bluff Cemetery, Buna.
