Mary Jones

January 9, 1936 - July 10, 2022

Mary Jones, 86, of Winnie, died Sunday, July 10, 2022. She was born on January 9, 1936, to Laura Foster and Daniel Butler.

Mary was the longtime owner of Mary’s Hallmark Shop in Houston. She enjoyed gardening, reading, casino trips, traveling with her husband, and fishing. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Anyone who met her fell in love with her and became a friend for life. She was a true warrior that had such a strong faith. She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her beloved husband of forty-nine years, Jimmy Jones, of Winnie; daughters, Renee Lara and husband, Santos, of Bryan and Marsha Nesting of Fannett; sons, Wayne Blair and wife, Dianne, of Navasota; James Jones and wife, Jill, of Livingston; and Mike Nesting of Spring Branch; grandchildren, Cody and Lynn Blair; Cambry and Matt Yarotsky; Brandi; Deidre and Emily Jones and her significant other, Spencer Schaefer; and James Jones, Jr. and wife, Kimberlee; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Butler and wife, Jacquie, of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and a niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pat Boone; and grandson, Sammy Blair.

A gathering of Mrs. Jones’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie. All are invited to a catered celebration of life gathering at her home, 13424 FM 1663, Winnie, immediately following the service. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Kindred Hospice and Dr. Boutte for their amazing support.
