Mary George

December 22, 1929 - December 28, 2021

Mary Louise George, 92, of Stowell, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was born on December 22, 1929, to Beatrice Carey Thorns and Issac Thorns, in Crowley, Louisiana.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Johnson and her husband, Philip, of Beaumont; granddaughters, Sunita Johnson of Houston and Quin Mallory of Cypress; great-grandson, Aden Mallory of Cypress; sisters, Bennie Jenkins of Mermentau, Louisiana, Elnora Brouchet of Pacoima, California, and Ruth Hawkins and Patsy Thorns, both of Crowley, Louisiana; and brother, Willie Thorns of Palmsdale, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie George; three sisters; and two brothers.

A Rosary for Mrs. George will be recited at 9:30 a.m. and a gathering of her family and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
