Mary Patricia “Patti” Hillebrandt (MawMaw)
Mary Patricia “Patti” Hillebrandt (MawMaw), 85, of Orange, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on November 4, 1938, to Fannie Mae Lassiter Whitfield and John D. Whitfield, in Frost.
Patti was the former owner of Twins Resale in Bridge City. She loved shopping and making yard and estate sales. She collected roosters, antique dishes, and glassware. Patti was a wonderful wife of 43 years. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Frederic Hillebrant; sons, Charles E. Garbs and his wife, Joy, of Pritchett and Jeffrey Garbs of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Betty Garbs of Orange; brothers Curtis Whitfield and his wife, Rachel, of Longview and Jimmy Whitfield and his wife, Margaret of Pritchett; grandchildren, Christian Garbs and his wife, Elizabeth, of Winona; Charles D. Garbs of Orange; Michael-David Garbs of Dallas; and Kayleb Garbs, Jose Solis, and Jesus Solis, all of Orange; and great-grandchildren, Charles N. Garbs of Vinton, Louisiana and Charlotte Garbs and Tessa Garbs, both of Winona.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Macayla Cheyanne Santana; brothers, Leo Whitfield and Chester Whitfield; and sisters, Ruth Beloney and Hazel Trump.

A gathering of Mrs. Hillebrandt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Our deepest condolences to Uncle Freddy, Charles, Jeff and all the family. I’m gonna miss having her to keep Pops and I in line and sharing old time recipes. Her fried shrimp were hands down the best I’ve ever eaten!!
