Mavis Kirkland
Mavis Kirkland, 89, of Winnie, died Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Kindred Hospital, Webster. She was born on December 19, 1931, in Hartsfield, Georgia, to Mattie Lou McCorvey Richter and Forest Lee Richter.
Mavis is survived by her son, Kenneth Kirkland; and granddaughter, Meredith Perez and her husband, Clifton, both of League City; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Chase Caldwell, and Houston and Brittany Perez.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard “Junior” Kirkland, Jr.; son, Gary Wayne Kirkland; granddaughter, Kourtney Caldwell; and grandson, Jonathan Kirkland,
A gathering of Mrs. Kirkland’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 120 West Pear Avenue, Winnie, Texas 77665.
