Michael “Chico” Myers

January 1, 1964 - November 12, 2021

Michael “Chico” Myers, 57, of Winnie, died Friday, November 12, 2021, at Harbor Hospice of East Texas, Jasper. He was born January 1, 1964, in Lake Charles, to Luthy Lance Myers and Lawrence Myers.

Chico worked in carpentry and all the cooling towers in Southeast Texas for over thirty years. He was a selfless man that had a heart of gold.

Chico loved fishing, boiling crawfish, and barbecuing and loved to eat gumbo. Most don’t know this, but he was also a secret Betty Crocker at home. He loved baking cookies. It was no secret, however, that his phone was his bestie. He might as well have had that thing glued to his hand.

If you knew Chico, then you can probably remember at least one of his many corny jokes or catch phrases. He had an over-the-top sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Chico was definitely the life of any party.

Above all else, he cherished his grandchildren. He will be remembered by all those that knew him as a loving husband, father, brother, and “Paw Paw Chico”.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Lesa Myers, of Winnie; daughter, Miranda Carroll and husband, Cherad, of Dayton and honorary daughters, Kami Hobson and Courtney Hayward, of Winnie; sons, Mike Myers, of Ohio; Kyle Myers; Cody Myers, both of Winnie; and Marlon “Pooh” Riley, of Nome; mother, Luthy Myers, of Bronson; grandchildren, Kadence; Keira; Michael, Jr.; Alexis; October Lynn; Sophia; McKinna; Shaun, Jr.; Waylon; Marilyn; Liam; Gabriel; Isaac; and Gideon; sisters, Stephanie Trahan and husband, Johnny, of Bronson and Ellen Fountain, of Kirbyville; brothers, Eldon Myers, of Winnie; Lonnie Myers, of Hillister; and Bruce Myers, of Mauriceville; first wife, Rachel Yohey, of Dayton; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Myers; son, Shaun Myers; and brothers, Danny, Lambert, and Roy Myers.

A gathering of Chico’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
