Michael Gene Weston

September 13, 1950 - April 7, 2026

Michael Gene Weston, age 75, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by the same love he spent his life giving so freely.

Born on September 13, 1950, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to J.B. Weston and Maudie Crawford Weston, Michael grew up spending summers with his siblings and cousins, forming bonds that shaped his lifelong devotion to family. He graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1968, where he was elected Class Favorite several times, a reflection of the kindness and easy charm that made people naturally gravitate toward him. As a teenager, he worked at the Winnsboro Cotton Gin to save money for his first car and learned to love hunting and fishing alongside his brother, Jay, and his brother‑in‑law, Chester.

On October 2, 1970, Michael married the love of his life, Deborah Weston, after just three months of knowing she was the one. Together they built a life grounded in devotion, steadiness, and unwavering love, sharing fifty-five years of marriage.

Michael built a long and respected career in the oil industry. He began as a service man on production and drilling platforms and worked his way into leadership through dedication, grit, and integrity. He retired on February 2, 2016, as the Beaumont Operations Supervisor for Kinder Morgan, closing out an impressive thirty-one-year career.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Samuel Don Weston and Johnnie Edward Weston; and his cousin, Sammy Sharbono, who was more like a brother throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah; and by his children, who were the pride of his heart: Trevor Weston and wife, Sheila, of Sour Lake, Texas; Nikol Weston of Beaumont, Texas; and Cortland Weston and wife, Stephanie, of Mont Belvieu, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Mickie Higgins and husband, Ray, of Berryville, Arkansas; Mildred Miles and husband, Chester, of Berryville, Arkansas; and Jay Weston and wife, Debbie, of Moss Point, Mississippi.

Of all the roles Michael held in life, none brought him more joy than being “Pawpaw.” He was the most proud and loving grandfather to his three grandsons, Dylan Weston of Lumberton, Texas; Logan Weston of Sour Lake, Texas; and Cole Weston of Mont Belvieu, Texas. He bragged on them every chance he got and cherished every moment spent with them. Michael carried each of their accomplishments with immense pride, and his love for them was constant and unmistakable.

Michael also leaves behind his best friend, Jay Herford, and Jay’s wife, Skyla, friends who became family and shared a lifetime of memories with him. He kept close ties with all his cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children, each of whom was touched by his kindness and steady love. He mentored many young people as they were beginning their lives and careers, always believing that a little boost could make all the difference. Michael lived a life defined by loyalty, family, and friendship, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and stories that will be shared for generations. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who loved him.
